Easy Resource Editing

Resource files can be edited with a simple and clean interface.

Original, untranslated content is displayed on one side of the screen, while the work-in-progress translation is on the other side.

Amanuens alerts you when an entry's text is too short or too long compared to the original content, so the translation does not disrupt the user interface.

Entries can be individually starred to easily spot them, and you can also search for words and keys.

The interface supports right-to-left languages, so you don't have any limitation.

Simple Project Management

Managing projects and translations is quick and simple.

You can create several projects, each one mapped to a Subversion repository root. For each project you can specify multiple directories where Amanuens will look for resource files to translate.

Translators mark files as finished so you can easily keep track of the status of a translation. When all files in a translation session are complete, Amanuens highlights it in green.

Amanuens supports callback URLs for each project and directory, so that each time you commit changes in your repository, the system can schedule existing translations for synchronization. New and changed entries are highlighted so the translator can easily spot them.

History of Completed Work

Tracking changes to resource files has never been easier.

Every time a change to resource files is committed into your repository, a Unified DIFF patch is saved in Amanuens, so you can easily keep track of all the changes. If a commit fails, you still have the patch file so you can manually apply it.

Each completed session also contain the list of languages and files it contained, for maximum control over who did what, and when.

Detailed Activity Reports

View, filter and print detailed activity reports.

For each translation session, the system sums up several statistical figures, most importantly the time spent and the number of changed words, helping you keeping track of translators' activity.

You can filter reports based on the period as well as the translator. Translators can view reports for their own work.

Reports include all completed translation sessions as well as in-progress work, so it's easy to identify bottlenecks and improve translators' performance.

Repository Authentication Settings

Decide whether to save repository credentials or to enter them manually.

For a maximum convenience, you can decide to store repository authentication credentials in Amanuens, and we'll encrypt them.

If you want to keep them secret, that's totally fine with us, just configure the project to ask for credentials every time Amanuens needs to access the repository. In this case, we'll never store the password.

Generate Language Files Easily

Generate files for a given languages in just two clicks.

Amanuens allows you to generate resource files for a new language with just a few clicks, using another language as template.

The procedure allows you to preview the generated files, so you're sure to commit the correct files.

Rich User Management Features

Decide who can do what.

You can create as many users as you like, and each one can either be an administrator or a translator.

You can assign to each translator the set of languages they are in charge of, for each project. You can also configure whether they can create new translation sessions, commit changes and delete or synchronize sessions.

Each translator has a manager that is notified every time the translator commits a change. The translator can also contact his manager for help.
